What is a Clinical Trial?
Clinical trials are research studies in which people volunteer to help find answers to specific health questions. When carefully conducted, they are the safest and fastest way to find new treatments and ways to improve health.
However, it is important to note that new treatments offered in clinical trials may have side effects or risks unknown to doctors and may prove ineffective or less effective than current treatments.
- Benefits: Gaining access to new treatments not available to the public.
- Reimbursement for participation may be available.
